The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Bulek Idris might have been able to make a better finish in the 2nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jatuh Sinuhaji. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bulek Idris ran back to his position shaking his head. 2 minutes into the match, Bambapoela's goalkeeper Jatuh Sinuhaji had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bulek Idris. In the 7th minute, Bulek Idris got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 9thth minute of the game Djati Simamora who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Bambapoela's Jatuh Sinuhaji was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Djati Simamora spun around in front of the goal 9 minutes in the game, and got away a shot that, to his disappointment, went to the left of Bambapoela's goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ade Prima in the 19th minute of play forced Bambapoela's goalkeeper Jatuh Sinuhaji to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute of the match, Bulek Idris got a very nice opportunity to score, but Jatuh Sinuhaji was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 20 played minutes Bambapoela got a freekick which was hit by Lelo Sembiring. After 31 played minutes Penang Island got a freekick which was hit by Ade Prima. In the 33rd minute, Djati Simamora fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Jatuh Sinuhaji, passed just outside the right post. Banan Banana hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Jatuh Sinuhaji made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bulek Idris in the 41st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bulek Idris in the 43rd minute of play forced Bambapoela's goalkeeper Jatuh Sinuhaji to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Ade Prima fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Penang Island's protests and gave Ade Prima a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes Penang Island got a freekick which was hit by Ade Prima. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

In the 51st minute Bulek Idris shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jatuh Sinuhaji saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 51 minutes into the game, Bulek Idris cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Jatuh Sinuhaji was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. A collision led to Bambapoela getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Rexy Priyatno hit a great ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bulek Idris in the 57th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Jatuh Sinuhaji prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 60 minutes into the game, Djati Simamora cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Jatuh Sinuhaji was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 63rd match minute, Bambapoela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lelo Sembiring to maneuver through the defense. Bambapoela's Jatuh Sinuhaji played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Djati Simamora in the 65th minute of play. When Penang Island's Bulek Idris in the 66th minute got a chance for a shot 66th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Bambapoela's goalie prevented a goal. When Haryanto Simamora came up free with the goalie in the 73rd minute, the Penang Island fans jumped to their feet. Bulek Idris scored 4-0 in the 75th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jatuh Sinuhaji, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jatuh Sinuhaji showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bulek Idris in the 77th minute of the match. Djati Simamora sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 85th minute, Mahadi Barus managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bambapoela's supporters rose to their feet, but Mahadi Barus was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jonas Salk breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. For all the effort they put into the match, the Bambapoela players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Penang Island.
