In the 2nd minute, Bulek Idris left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Penang Island fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. The Penang Island fans' excitement grew in the 6th match minute when Penang Island's Bulek Idris looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When the match had gone on for 9 minutes, Bulek Idris put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Erling Halland. Bulek Idris scored 0-4 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Erling Halland, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 17th minute, Bulek Idris made a precise shot to the right of Erling Halland. PSP Mapan's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-5. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bulek Idris in the 21st minute of play forced PSP Mapan's goalkeeper Erling Halland to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 22 minutes, Eboy Sinambela mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the PSP Mapan and the Penang Island players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 22nd minute, Eboy Sinambela hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match clock showed 24 minutes, the score became 0-6 when Djati Simamora sped through PSP Mapan's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Erling Halland. Erling Halland stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bulek Idris's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Fadhly Sinuhaji struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Jonas Salk didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for PSP Mapan. Ade Prima kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Bulek Idris left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Penang Island fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-7. In the 43rd play minute Taufik Eiboy came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Jonas Salk. 1-7. The supporters of PSP Mapan booed when Penang Island was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gendo Waluyo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Disappointed in the 1-7 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Erling Halland was a little too slow when Bulek Idris got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 1-8. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Bulek Idris in the 55th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Erling Halland prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as Bulek Idris kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Erling Halland. That made the score 1-9 in the 57 minute of play. If Djati Simamora had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bulek Idris got free with Erling Halland in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Bulek Idris had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Bulek Idris could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 61st minute of the match, but Erling Halland made a huge save. Gendo Waluyo kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Bulek Idris blasted a shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Erling Halland having to make a save. Erling Halland came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by Penang Island's Djati Simamora. But to his dismay, Djati Simamora quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-10. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Djati Simamora took a quick shot and it went in 1-11 without a chance for Erling Halland to make any attempt to save it. Bulek Idris could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 75th minute of the match, but Erling Halland made a huge save. After having played for 77 minutes, Bulek Idris managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Penang Island's supporters crossed their fingers, but Bulek Idris was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 81 minutes into the game, Djati Simamora lined in a short shot 1-12 behind a frustrated Erling Halland. Lelo Sarwanto's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonas Salk read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 84th minute of play. Erling Halland stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Bulek Idris's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. Erling Halland made an important save on a dangerous shot by Bulek Idris in the 87th minute. In the 88th minute, Ade Prima got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bulek Idris recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 92nd minute, Bulek Idris ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Erling Halland was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-13. Bulek Idris's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Erling Halland read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 96th minute of play. When the final whistle sounded Penang Island left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than PSP Mapan.
