Zulfikar Ridliwan made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. When Bulek Idris came up free with the goalie in the 19th minute, the Penang Island fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bulek Idris couldn't finish the play. 20 minutes into the match, Lubukraja's goal looked a bit too open when Djati Simamora came free, but Zulfikar Ridliwan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 21st minute Haryanto Simamora shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zulfikar Ridliwan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Bulek Idris in the 23rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zulfikar Ridliwan saved Lubukraja from getting behind. 24 minutes into the game, Faisal Halim cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Zulfikar Ridliwan was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zulfikar Ridliwan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faisal Halim, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. Djati Simamora took the ball and in the 45 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Zulfikar Ridliwan. Zulfikar Ridliwan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-5. Disappointed in the 0-5 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The wind increased when Djati Simamora made the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Djati Simamora shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zulfikar Ridliwan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Penang Island were awarded a corner in the 52th minute after Lubukraja's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Joko Febrian took the corner. The audience thought a goal was coming when Bulek Idris got free with Zulfikar Ridliwan in the 85th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Chanop Hansanimitkul hit a great freekick 85 minutes into the match. Zulfikar Ridliwan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Bulek Idris in the 87th minute of play. After 89 minutes of play, Penang Island's Bulek Idris made it 0-9 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Zulfikar Ridliwan was left in no man's land by his defense there! The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Chanop Hansanimitkul during the 93rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 93rd match minute, Lubukraja was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chanop Hansanimitkul to maneuver through the defense. The long shot by Gendo Waluyo in the 94th minute really tested Zulfikar Ridliwan's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Penang Island played a much better game than Lubukraja and deserved their victory. The Lubukraja players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
