Miguel Sobrino was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 24 minutes into the match. The supporters of Portugal booed when C.F Intercity was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Sobrino didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Bastos in the 26th minute of play forced C.F Intercity's goalkeeper Jeremie Van Nel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 28 minutes into the match, Portugal's Daniel Pimentel sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jeremie Van Nel narrowly saved just below the crossbar. C.F Intercity's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Felipe Barreto was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After a rather tough play, C.F Intercity's Octavio Nueva got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Jeremie Van Nel was a little too slow when Felipe Barreto got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 61st minute. The score was now 1-2. Portugal's Wilson Amorim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Olivar Ribeiro in the 66th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Olivar Ribeiro put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Wilson Amorim. Portugal made a substitution. Felipinho Amorim replaced Felipe Barreto. Portugal's Bartolomeu Dias was substituted for Viriato Moura. After 74 played minutes Portugal got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Bastos. In the 77thth minute of the game Olivar Ribeiro who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Portugal's Wilson Amorim was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 78 minutes into the game, C.F Intercity's Song Xiao Li nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Wilson Amorim made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-2. Olivar Ribeiro struck a weak shot in the 81st minute. Wilson Amorim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for C.F Intercity.
