After 13 played minutes Countdown FC got a freekick which was hit by Alfredão Sergipano. After a defensive mix-up in Countdown FC's zone, Gijsbert ter Kruimer stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Er Miner came out of the goal and Gijsbert ter Kruimer tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 19 minutes into the match, Netherlands's Gustaaf Groeneveldt sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Er Miner narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Er Miner took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lars Meesters, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 0-1 became the score in the 26th minute when Gijsbert ter Kruimer elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Er Miner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gustaaf Groeneveldt, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Countdown FC's Er Miner played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by David Eikelkamp in the 40th minute of play. The supporters of Netherlands booed when Countdown FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 41 match minutes in a wonderful position. João Vítor Barros didn't get a good kick on the ball. 46 minutes had been played when some careless play by Countdown FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. João Vítor Barros was the one to do the kick off. David Eikelkamp blasted a shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Er Miner having to make a save. 55 minutes into the match, Countdown FC's goal looked a bit too open when Wim Wilmes came free, but Er Miner reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A nice corner shot did that Gijsbert ter Kruimer got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Er Miner quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. A collision led to Countdown FC getting a freekick after 56 minutes play. Dida Carioca hit a great ball. Er Miner showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Wim Wilmes, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Er Miner having to interfere. After 63 played minutes Countdown FC got a freekick which was hit by Diguinho Rezende. 67 minutes into the match, Netherlands's goal looked a bit too open when João Vítor Barros came free, but Arnout Reekers reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 71st minute Dida Carioca shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnout Reekers saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wim Wilmes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 73rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Er Miner having to interfere. Netherlands's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
