The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 7th minute Frank Sachs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gleb Stroganov saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Frank Sachs came up free with the goalie in the 9th minute, the Germany fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Frank Sachs couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Germany booed when Geo-Winner was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 10 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vladislav Davydov didn't get a good kick on the ball. Frank Sachs's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Gleb Stroganov read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 12th minute of play. Tommy Kahn was out of position in the 14 minute of play, and Maksim Dunaevskiy capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Maksim Dunaevskiy really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ulrich Stein in the 17th minute of play forced Geo-Winner's goalkeeper Gleb Stroganov to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 21 minutes, Frank Sachs managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Germany's supporters crossed their fingers, but Frank Sachs was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gleb Stroganov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Frank Sachs, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 28 minutes into the match, Geo-Winner's goal looked a bit too open when Frank Sachs came free, but Gleb Stroganov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tommy Kahn took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Maksim Dunaevskiy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Petr Klimovskiy had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Gleb Stroganov showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Albin Holweck, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. In the 39th match minute, Germany was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sven Krakouer to maneuver through the defense. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Frank Sachs made a kick off. Tommy Kahn showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Grigoriy Kudryavtsev in the 56th minute of the match. Vladislav Davydov kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. In the 69th minute the ball was on its way in behind Germany's goalkeeper Tommy Kahn, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Gleb Stroganov made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Frank Sachs sent off a good shot on target. In the 79th minute, Petr Klimovskiy ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tommy Kahn was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. Maksim Dunaevskiy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Tommy Kahn tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Germany's Tommy Kahn played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maksim Dunaevskiy in the 87th minute of play. 89 minutes had been played when some careless play by Germany's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Veniamin Gorshkov was slow to take the kick. During this time Geo-Winner's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Andrey Shalikashvili managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Tommy Kahn stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Maksim Dunaevskiy's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. The supporters of Geo-Winner booed when Germany was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Adrian Dreifuss didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tommy Kahn made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Petr Klimovskiy in the 96th minute of play. Geo-Winner were awarded a corner in the 97th minute after Germany's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Veniamin Gorshkov took the corner. Geo-Winner's Veniamin Gorshkov was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Tommy Kahn in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Geo-Winner fans cheered their team off the field, for while Germany had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
