A collision led to 新手队 getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. 史皓风 hit a great ball. When 姜建景 fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 香港离岛区红翼联队's protests and gave 姜建景 a yellow card for diving instead. After 43 played minutes 香港离岛区红翼联队 got a freekick which was hit by 姜建景. 龚洲广 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

With a little luck, 新手队's 谢宽默 got control of the ball when 魏奕杰 tried to sneak it across the goal line. The 香港离岛区红翼联队 players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
