An unexpectedly hard shot by 严希树 in the 20th minute of play forced 云南临沧潜鱼联队's goalkeeper 王晨岚 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 27th minute, 徐辰思 ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. 王晨岚 was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. 37 minutes into the game, 云南临沧潜鱼联队's 姜亮枫 nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. 王辉振 made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. 王辉振 stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of 吕兴骏's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. 云南临沧潜鱼联队's 吕兴骏 got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when 姜亮枫 stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. If 徐辰思 had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 63rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 严希树 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 王晨岚 having to interfere. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
