Per-Erik Hjortberg made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from 曲远鸿 in the 44th minute of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when 曲远鸿 stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. When 袁博斌 fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored 『挑战者』夔门FC's protests and gave 袁博斌 a yellow card for diving instead.
