The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Formby AFC's goalkeeper 유 유, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 18th minute 김 만 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but 유 유 saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 김 만's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 유 유 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. 유 유 stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of 김 환's shot from short distance in the 25th minute. In the 26th minute, 김 만 got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 유 유 showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from 김 환, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Formby AFC's zone, 김 만 stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. 유 유 came out of the goal and 김 만 tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 37 minutes into the match, Formby AFC's goal looked a bit too open when 김 환 came free, but 유 유 reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 김 만 received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 38th minute. 유 유 tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 40th match minute, Formby AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 김 영 to maneuver through the defense. After 42 minutes, 이 이 mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Formby AFC and the Liphook United players grew even worse after the yellow card. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, 김 배 managed to get in a good position for a shot. Formby AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but 김 배 was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. 이 묘 breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

An unexpectedly hard shot by 김 만 in the 55th minute of play forced Formby AFC's goalkeeper 유 유 to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 57th minute, 김 만 left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Liphook United fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 김 만 fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 유 유 having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 66th minute, 김 환 managed to get in a good position for a shot. Liphook United's supporters rose to their feet, but 김 환 was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. 유 유 breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 김 배 sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. 이 화 helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Formby AFC's 이 화 got a free kick in the 90th minute. 유 유 acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 91st minute, took the ball on the long shot from 김 현. With a little luck, Formby AFC's 유 유 got control of the ball when 김 환 tried to sneak it across the goal line. 이 이 was shown his second yellow card after 96 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. 김 현 walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. When the match was over Liphook United could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Formby AFC throughout the match.
