In the 35th minute, Comberton's 김 제 ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind 이 동방. 이 동방 yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-1. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After some careless play in the Ingatestone AFC defense, 김 제 kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of 이 동방. The Ingatestone AFC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that 이 동방 should have stopped the shot. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.
