An unexpectedly hard shot by Navarro Triplett in the 4th minute of play forced Girrawheen SC's goalkeeper Gregg Grieve to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 6th minute, Kane Shipp got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 7th match minute, Girrawheen SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ian Kayrooz to maneuver through the defense. In the 9th minute, Girrawheen SC's Art Fynn dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. In the 14th minute, Art Fynn reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Casper Adamson. The goal made the score 2-0. When Ian Kayrooz fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Girrawheen SC's protests and gave Ian Kayrooz a yellow card for diving instead. Ian Kayrooz kicked well hit freekick during the 18th minute of the match. Best Egel's late challenge caught a Girrawheen SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Best Egel helped the player get up and apologised. The audience was convinced that Art Fynn's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Casper Adamson was relentless in the 24th minute of the game. In the 27th minute Art Fynn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Casper Adamson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 32nd minute, Girrawheen SC's Kane Shipp dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 3-0. Casper Adamson stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Art Fynn's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. After a rather tough play, Sidney Stars's Norman Huther got a free kick in the 42nd minute. 47 minutes into the match, Sidney Stars's goalkeeper Casper Adamson had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Kane Shipp. After 48 played minutes Sidney Stars got a freekick which was hit by Best Egel. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Art Fynn stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Kane Shipp took the ball and in the 55 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Casper Adamson. Casper Adamson dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 4-0. In the 65th minute, Art Fynn ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Casper Adamson was frozen by the shot and now it was 5-0. Casper Adamson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Art Fynn, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. After 77 played minutes Girrawheen SC got a freekick which was hit by Ian Kayrooz. Girrawheen SC's Zbigniew Owsiak was substituted for Kane Shipp. A collision led to Girrawheen SC getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Ian Kayrooz hit a great ball. In the 84th minute, Zbigniew Owsiak made a precise shot to the right of Casper Adamson. Sidney Stars's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 6-0. Best Egel made in the 90th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Girrawheen SC's Nathan Pike. Best Egel hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. When Girrawheen SC's Art Fynn in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sidney Stars's goalie prevented a goal. There was no doubt that Girrawheen SC were the better team. Girrawheen SC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
