Jonathan Fasey fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dugald White having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 13th minute by Carleton Norton got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Dugald White took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jonathan Fasey, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bickford Phasey showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jacob Riley, who was totally free with the ball in the 16th minute. Jonathan Fasey received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Dugald White tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A hard shot 22 in the game by Abe Ramsay from a close distance when the talented Dugald White managed to make a qualified save. Marcus's players were relieved. 24 minutes into the match, Abe Ramsay notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Marcus's Dugald White. Dugald White was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 28th minute, Marcus's Adolph Worsley seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Adolph Worsley the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Marcus protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Adolph Worsley had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to Marcus getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Adolph Worsley hit a great ball. If Pearce Telfer had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Marcus's zone, Jonathan Fasey stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dugald White came out of the goal and Jonathan Fasey tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Logan Grigson hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. If Jonathan Fasey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Logan Grigson during the 51st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, Marcus's Logan Grigson got a free kick in the 52nd minute. Dugald White showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jonathan Fasey in the 57th minute of the match. In the 59th minute, Jonathan Fasey hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 63rd minute Jonathan Fasey shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dugald White saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 63rd minute, Jonathan Fasey ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dugald White was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. After 66 minutes, Abe Ramsay mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Gooramadda and the Marcus players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Gooramadda getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Abe Ramsay hit a great ball. After 67 played minutes Marcus got a freekick which was hit by Stan Minton. After 69 played minutes, Gooramadda's Dane Boylin shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Dugald White came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Gooramadda reached it. If Carleton Norton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Edwardo Hodgson fell near the penalty area in the 72nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Marcus's protests and gave Edwardo Hodgson a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Marcus getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Edwardo Hodgson hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Fasey in the 78th minute of play forced Marcus's goalkeeper Dugald White to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Jonathan Fasey had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 79th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the match, Marcus's goal looked a bit too open when Abe Ramsay came free, but Dugald White reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Battle Goucher took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 86th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dugald White. Marcus's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 88th minute, Humphry Powley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 91 played minutes Marcus got a freekick which was hit by Logan Grigson. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abe Ramsay in the 93rd minute of play forced Marcus's goalkeeper Dugald White to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dugald White took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abe Ramsay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Gooramadda were victorious despite being under pressure from Marcus for much of the match.
