Garema's Darell Mclatchey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Earnest Mccartan in the 41st minute of play. The Garema players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Sydney Football Club were winning 0-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Earnest Mccartan to make the kick off. Darell Mclatchey made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ray Benton in the 55th minute of play. Earnest Mccartan let the left foot speak when in front of goal in the 70th minute shot 0-2 at rihgt post. Earnest Mccartan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bishop Smoothy sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Garema's Darell Mclatchey proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 92nd minute of the match, managed to save Garema from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Garema booed when Sydney Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 96 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar Monson didn't get a good kick on the ball.
