Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Tiger Turnbull took the kick off in the first half of the match. Brockman Heys sent away a hard shot on goal in the 3rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Jeffray Houldsworth in the 9th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Darell Mclatchey prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 10 minutes into the match, Garema's goal looked a bit too open when Jeffray Houldsworth came free, but Darell Mclatchey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Darell Mclatchey showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jeffray Houldsworth in the 12th minute of the match. Bray Malacarne made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tiger Turnbull in the 21st minute of play. Bryanne Kesi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bray Malacarne having to interfere. Darell Mclatchey took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jeffray Houldsworth, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 34 played minutes Garema got a freekick which was hit by Carlisle Bielski. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jeffray Houldsworth in the 37th minute of play forced Garema's goalkeeper Darell Mclatchey to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Tiger Turnbull received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Bray Malacarne tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiger Turnbull recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Garema's Darell Mclatchey played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brockman Heys in the 48th minute of play. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

If Tiger Turnbull had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Cornelius Baxter hit a great freekick 54 minutes into the match. Jeffray Houldsworth struck a weak shot in the 60th minute. Darell Mclatchey didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merlion Patriots FC. A wasted opportunity for Merlion Patriots FC. 75 minutes into the match, Garema's goal looked a bit too open when Brockman Heys came free, but Darell Mclatchey reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Brockman Heys came up free with the goalie in the 78th minute, the Merlion Patriots FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Brockman Heys couldn't finish the play. Tiger Turnbull struck a weak shot in the 87th minute. Bray Malacarne didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Garema. Carlisle Bielski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bray Malacarne having to interfere. Larkin Mcinnes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 92nd minute of the match, but Darell Mclatchey made a huge save. Darell Mclatchey was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Brockman Heys showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-1 in the 93 minute of play.
