Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Rex Triplett started the match with the kick off. Braidwood's Carlton Phillips got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If John Sewell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Rex Triplett in the 7th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Navarro Sylvester prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Laurence Hinwood fell near the penalty area in the 10th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Pira's protests and gave Laurence Hinwood a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Pira's Laurence Hinwood got a free kick in the 10th minute. Russel Hunn made a fantastic save in the 14th minute, when Carlton Phillips sent off a good shot on target. Rex Triplett fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Navarro Sylvester having to interfere. 29 minutes into the match, Pira's Rex Triplett sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Navarro Sylvester narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Pira getting a freekick after 32 minutes play. Lucas Paull hit a great ball. John Sewell struck a weak shot in the 39th minute. Russel Hunn didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Braidwood. An unexpectedly hard shot by John Sewell in the 41st minute of play forced Pira's goalkeeper Russel Hunn to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and John Sewell made a kick off. Handley Korff could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 51st minute of the match, but Navarro Sylvester made a huge save. Carlton Phillips fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 57th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Russel Hunn having to interfere. Carlton Phillips's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Russel Hunn read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 59th minute of play. Braidwood's Navarro Sylvester played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rex Triplett in the 64th minute of play. In the 69th minute, Berny Lucas left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Braidwood fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Carlton Phillips sent away a hard shot on goal in the 76th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Malcolm Hoey's late challenge caught a Braidwood's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Malcolm Hoey helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Pira getting a freekick after 76 minutes play. Malcolm Hoey hit a great ball. Cregan Christina missed a clear chance of a goal when in the 77 minute of the game fired away a shot, but unfortunally the ball went out to the Russel Hunn right hand side. After having played for 79 minutes, John Sewell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Braidwood's supporters crossed their fingers, but John Sewell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Handley Korff sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Lorimer Grandison hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Rex Triplett was extremely unlucky when he, in the 90th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Malcolm Hoey kicked well hit freekick during the 93rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Braidwood's Brandes Dobbing got a free kick in the 95th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Handley Korff got free with Navarro Sylvester in the 97th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Despite being the better team, Braidwood failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
