Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Cifu Films F.C.'s Dalwood Petersen started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 4 minutes into the match, Geraldton's goal looked a bit too open when Dalwood Petersen came free, but Brendan Kurth reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marshal Nelson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Rennie having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dalwood Petersen in the 9th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brendan Kurth saved Geraldton from getting behind. Cifu Films F.C.'s Keefe Anders suffered a sore thigh after 10 minutes and couldn't finish the game. After 10 minutes, Barney Arkinstall mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Geraldton and the Cifu Films F.C. players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 11th match minute, Geraldton was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Barney Arkinstall to maneuver through the defense. In the 22nd minute of the match Buck Odonahoo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Brendan Kurth showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Alan Rennie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marshal Nelson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Buck Odonahoo took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 30th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Brendan Kurth. Geraldton's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. In the 31st minute of the match Burt Coleman shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Brendan Kurth showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 37th minute, Geraldton's Marshal Nelson dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. Carl Aistrope received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Alan Rennie tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Burt Coleman charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Burt Coleman the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 41st minute, Burt Coleman hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 42nd minute of the match Herbert Mcmillan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alan Rennie skillfully saved the ball. In the 43rd match minute, Cifu Films F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rodd Clarke to maneuver through the defense. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-1.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Marshal Nelson to make the kick off. Brendan Kurth showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Roger Stafford in the 53rd minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, Cifu Films F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Berne Sperling came free, but Alan Rennie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roger Stafford in the 61st minute of play forced Geraldton's goalkeeper Brendan Kurth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 70th minute, Carl Aistrope got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Cifu Films F.C.'s Rodd Clarke got a good chance for a goal in the 74th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Peter Powley during the 77th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 77th minute, Peter Powley hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 78 played minutes, Geraldton's Herbert Mcmillan shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alan Rennie came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Geraldton reached it. Geraldton's Brendan Kurth played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dalwood Petersen in the 87th minute of play. Dalwood Petersen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brendan Kurth having to interfere. Dario Mcmahon recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 94th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Geraldton's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
