Norman Hodgson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Cod Dobbing tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Norman Hodgson who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 33rdth minute tested the skills of Cod Dobbing when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Bert Dalglish made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Irwin Blattman in the 35th minute of play. Coonalpyn's Bert Dalglish played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Irwin Blattman in the 40th minute of play. Bert Dalglish showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bud Krause, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Bert Dalglish made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Irwin Blattman in the 46th minute of play. If Bud Krause had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Brooks Askew hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. If Brice Royans had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 59th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 60 minutes into the match, Coonalpyn's goal looked a bit too open when Irwin Blattman came free, but Bert Dalglish reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bert Dalglish took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Irwin Blattman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Brooks Askew fell near the penalty area in the 74th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Struan's protests and gave Brooks Askew a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Coonalpyn booed when Struan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Brooks Askew didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 75th minute of the match Neal Gray shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Cod Dobbing showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Adolph Vaughan kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. Irwin Blattman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bert Dalglish having to interfere. When Struan's Irwin Blattman in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Coonalpyn's goalie prevented a goal. 90 minutes into the match, Coonalpyn's goalkeeper Bert Dalglish had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bud Krause. In the 91st minute, Coonalpyn's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Bud Krause fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After 92 played minutes Coonalpyn got a freekick which was hit by Dario Boserio. In the 97thth minute of the game Irwin Blattman who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Coonalpyn's Bert Dalglish was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The Struan supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Struan would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
