In the 10th minute Carver Argoud shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Steve Stanton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Matthews Deeth's late challenge caught a Chowerup's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Matthews Deeth helped the player get up and apologised. In the 13th minute, Matthews Deeth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Caringbah getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Eavan Rosenboom hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Brad Nolan in the 18th minute of play forced Caringbah's goalkeeper Govert Maurits to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caringbah's Govert Maurits played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Brad Nolan in the 21st minute of play. The supporters of Caringbah booed when Chowerup was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bud Bowie didn't get a good kick on the ball. Carver Argoud blasted a shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Steve Stanton having to make a save. After having played for 28 minutes, Brian Shirdon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Chowerup's supporters crossed their fingers, but Brian Shirdon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Steve Stanton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carver Argoud in the 35th minute of play. A collision led to Caringbah getting a freekick after 37 minutes play. Randle Tebbit hit a great ball. Govert Maurits took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brian Shirdon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 44 minutes into the game, Brian Shirdon was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chowerup's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Caringbah the free kick. A collision led to Chowerup getting a freekick after 44 minutes play. Brian Shirdon hit a great ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The wind increased when Brad Nolan made the kick off in the second half. Chowerup's Steve Stanton played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Eavan Rosenboom in the 52nd minute of play. In the 54th minute, Brian Shirdon ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Govert Maurits was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a defensive mix-up in Caringbah's zone, Brian Shirdon stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Govert Maurits came out of the goal and Brian Shirdon tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Caringbah's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Bryce Beale 60 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 0-2. In the 64th match minute, Caringbah was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cassidy Inwood to maneuver through the defense. Govert Maurits was out of position in the 66 minute of play, and Brad Nolan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Brad Nolan really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Govert Maurits showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brad Nolan, who was totally free with the ball in the 69th minute. With a little luck, Caringbah's Govert Maurits got control of the ball when Zack Mcmahon tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 76th minute Brad Nolan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Govert Maurits saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Steve Stanton took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Carver Argoud, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caringbah's Govert Maurits proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 79th minute of the match, managed to save Caringbah from getting a goal against them. After a rather tough play, Caringbah's Carver Argoud got a free kick in the 90th minute. Cassidy Inwood hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. Govert Maurits made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zack Mcmahon in the 96th minute. When the final whistle sounded Chowerup left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Caringbah.
