Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Dagan Petersen kicked off to start the match. Rufus Sewell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bern Mcjunkins having to interfere. In the 9th minute of the match, Nelson Baxter tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Bern Mcjunkins saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 10 minutes, Corbett Andrews mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Derriwong and the Palmerston players grew even worse after the yellow card. Corbett Andrews hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Paul Odd took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 11th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Britton Hilton. Derriwong's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Bern Mcjunkins made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rufus Sewell in the 13th minute. After having played for 19 minutes, Nelson Baxter managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Derriwong's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nelson Baxter was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Britton Hilton showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dagan Petersen, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. Rufus Sewell recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 31st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alan Loch received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Britton Hilton tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Palmerston's Dagan Petersen in the 36th minute got a chance for a shot 36th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Derriwong's goalie prevented a goal. Bern Mcjunkins made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nelson Baxter in the 38th minute of play. Dagan Petersen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 39th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 43rd minute of the match Nick Gledden sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Bern Mcjunkins skillfully saved the ball. Ethan Russell's late challenge caught a Palmerston's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ethan Russell helped the player get up and apologised. The referee gave Palmerston a penalty, 51 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Paul Odd, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Derriwong's Britton Hilton. 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

Britton Hilton showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lauder Rhodes in the 60th minute of the match. When Alan Loch came up free with the goalie in the 61st minute, the Palmerston fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alan Loch couldn't finish the play. After 64 minutes, Lauder Rhodes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Palmerston and the Derriwong players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 64th match minute, Palmerston was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lauder Rhodes to maneuver through the defense. If Alan Loch had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Alan Loch came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Palmerston fans jumped to their feet. Palmerston's Bern Mcjunkins played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelson Baxter in the 81st minute of play. In the 102nd minute, Lauder Rhodes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
