Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Derriwong's Nelson Baxter started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute of the match Ian Hauschildt shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Britton Hilton showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. If Rufus Sewell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 4th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Nelson Baxter might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Arneil Millar. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Nelson Baxter ran back to his position shaking his head. Billy Macinnes hit a great freekick 11 minutes into the match. Bert Tevelien fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Britton Hilton having to interfere. Derriwong's Rufus Sewell got a good chance for a goal in the 19th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Arneil Millar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nelson Baxter in the 22nd minute of the match. Britton Hilton made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Brye Pearce sent off a good shot on target. Arneil Millar took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelson Baxter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bert Tevelien blasted a shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Britton Hilton having to make a save. Rufus Sewell struck a weak shot in the 43rd minute. Arneil Millar didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Derriwong. In the 45th minute Nelson Baxter shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arneil Millar saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th match minute, Ceduna was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Artie Nolan to maneuver through the defense. Rufus Sewell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 50th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bert Tevelien to strike the kick off in the second half. In a very dangerous position, a player in Derriwong fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 55th minute. Penalty! In the 66th match minute, Derriwong was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Billy Macinnes to maneuver through the defense. Ceduna's Randolph Winkless couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 66th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Derriwong. In the 68thth minute of the game Artie Nolan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Derriwong's Britton Hilton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 79th minute Brye Pearce shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Britton Hilton saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Bert Tevelien came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the Ceduna fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bert Tevelien couldn't finish the play. In the 85th minute, Rufus Sewell fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Arneil Millar, passed just outside the right post. 87 minutes into the match, Ceduna's Brye Pearce sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Britton Hilton narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The audience was convinced that Bert Tevelien's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Britton Hilton was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Arneil Millar was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Corbett Andrews showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 93 minute of play. Brye Pearce sent away a hard shot on goal in the 98th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 101st minute, Brye Pearce managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ceduna's supporters rose to their feet, but Brye Pearce was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Britton Hilton breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
