Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) After a rather tough play, Kununurra's Todd Travers got a free kick in the 4th minute. The free kick resulted in a very good chance to score when Todd Travers kicked a really tricky shot on goal. Buchanan Bennett never had to step in, however, because the ball went just left of the goal. A hard shot by Howard Easther from long distance, 6 minutes into the match, got Buchanan Bennett's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. Buchanan Bennett came out of the goal in the 14th minute to try and stop a shot by Kununurra's Todd Travers. But to his dismay, Todd Travers quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Long Muller took the ball and in the 22 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Bernie Ryan. Bernie Ryan dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Pea Heads's Buchanan Bennett played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Larry Obrien in the 26th minute of play. After 28 minutes, Belton Anderson mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Pea Heads and the Kununurra players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 28th minute, Belton Anderson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The long shot by Howard Easther in the 28th minute really tested Buchanan Bennett's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. 30 minutes into the match, Benard Tucknott notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Pea Heads's Buchanan Bennett. Buchanan Bennett was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 33 played minutes Kununurra got a freekick which was hit by Todd Travers. Buchanan Bennett stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Todd Travers's shot from short distance in the 38th minute. Benard Tucknott recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 44th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Todd Travers struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Buchanan Bennett didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kununurra. 57 minutes into the match, Todd Travers had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Buchanan Bennett. Pea Heads's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Todd Travers was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-2. During the 63rd minute of the match Belton Anderson completely mistimed his tackle and brought down his opponent. The referee gave Belton Anderson a yellow card, his second in the match, which meant he could no longer take part in the game. The supporters of Kununurra booed when Pea Heads was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 64 match minutes in a wonderful position. Belton Anderson didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Benard Tucknott in the 65th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Buchanan Bennett saved Pea Heads from getting behind. Buchanan Bennett took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Todd Travers, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Benard Tucknott received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Buchanan Bennett tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Buchanan Bennett showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Todd Travers, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. After 78 minutes of play, Kununurra's Todd Travers made it 5-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Buchanan Bennett was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ollie Awage kicked well hit freekick during the 82nd minute of the match. Buchanan Bennett made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Todd Travers in the 83rd minute of play. 86 minutes into the match, Todd Travers had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Buchanan Bennett. Pea Heads's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Todd Travers was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 6-2. If Todd Travers had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 95 minutes into the match, Pea Heads's goal looked a bit too open when Todd Travers came free, but Buchanan Bennett reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 96th minute Benard Tucknott shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Buchanan Bennett saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Todd Travers in the 97th minute of play forced Pea Heads's goalkeeper Buchanan Bennett to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
