Damian Sparrow struck a weak shot in the 19th minute. Downing Cave didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lavington. Downing Cave tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 35th minute, Damian Sparrow ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Downing Cave was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Ivan Grieve hit a great freekick 38 minutes into the match. Downing Cave took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Damian Sparrow, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Damian Sparrow had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 45th minute, Damian Sparrow managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lavington's supporters rose to their feet, but Damian Sparrow was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Downing Cave breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Through an outstanding action, after 61 minutes, Downing Cave successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. 64 minutes into the game, one of Rosebery:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Downing Cave went to the wrong direction when Jervis Reisz was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Damian Sparrow fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Downing Cave having to interfere. Downing Cave made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Dale Beins sent off a good shot on target. Damian Sparrow sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Downing Cave made an important save on a dangerous shot by Danton Galvin in the 78th minute. 81 minutes into the game, Ivan Grieve was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. In the 85thth minute of the game Damian Sparrow who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Rosebery's Downing Cave was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Lavington's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
