Thanks to some nice moves Logan Beattie could shoot a difficult shot in the 27th minute, which Russ Lovis however easily saved by the left post. After having played for 29 minutes, Edmund Allcock managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wandong's supporters crossed their fingers, but Edmund Allcock was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Long Schonke in the 31st minute of play forced Wandong's goalkeeper Russ Lovis to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Long Schonke sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Wandong's Russ Lovis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Russel Conlin in the 47th minute of play. The supporters of Wandong booed when Boorolong was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 48 match minutes in a wonderful position. Randall Cusbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Burt Kayrooz made a kick off. The supporters of Boorolong booed when Wandong was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Burt Kayrooz didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 89thth minute of the game Logan Beattie who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Wandong's Russ Lovis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Russ Lovis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Logan Beattie, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Russ Lovis showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Logan Beattie, who was totally free with the ball in the 95th minute. Boorolong's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
