Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Antony Virgin made the kick off which started today's match. Roland Boyd kicked well hit freekick during the 2nd minute of the match. 3 minutes in the game, Antony Virgin fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Carman Munday having to interfere. Carson Pearse's late challenge caught a Welltown's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carson Pearse helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Welltown booed when Boys was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carson Pearse didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Welltown's Stew Wharton in the 8th minute got a chance for a shot 8th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Boys's goalie prevented a goal. Welltown's Malcolm Millar got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Carman Munday made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alfred Owens in the 16th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Stew Wharton in the 19th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Barnett Whittington saved Boys from getting behind. Barnett Whittington took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Malcolm Millar, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alfred Owens had several of the Welltown's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 24 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Carman Munday as he didn't even see the shot coming. After a rather tough play, Welltown's Roland Boyd got a free kick in the 28th minute. Alfred Owens struck a weak shot in the 29th minute. Carman Munday didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Boys. Malcolm Millar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Barnett Whittington tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Stew Wharton stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. With his leg Barnett Whittington managed to avoid a goal in the 54thth minute, when Welltown's Malcolm Millar fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Edward Digiuseppe kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Alfred Owens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Carman Munday tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 63rd minute, Alfred Owens ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Carman Munday was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. Alfred Owens received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Carman Munday tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 71 minutes, Alfred Owens managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Boys's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alfred Owens was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 73 minutes of play, Boys's Alfred Owens made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Carman Munday was left in no man's land by his defense there! When Carson Pearse came up free with the goalie in the 83rd minute, the Boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Carson Pearse couldn't finish the play. 91 minutes into the match, Welltown's Malcolm Millar sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Barnett Whittington narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Malcolm Millar struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Barnett Whittington didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Welltown. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Boys fans cheered their team off the field, for while Welltown had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
