Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Mitchell Cowdell took the kick off in the first half of the match. Lauder Mccarthy took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antony Mcmahon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Miepoll's Lauder Mccarthy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Bill Heberle in the 7th minute of play. Andy Ayrton kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Antony Mcmahon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 11th minute the ball was on its way in behind Miepoll's goalkeeper Lauder Mccarthy, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Kenneth Yard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliot Colling in the 13th minute of play. Kenneth Yard was out of position in the 18 minute of play, and Mitchell Cowdell capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Mitchell Cowdell really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 27 minutes into the game, Kyle Moon cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Lauder Mccarthy was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Antony Mcmahon in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Lauder Mccarthy saved Miepoll from getting behind. Kenneth Yard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eliot Colling, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 39th minute, Berny Waterland ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Lauder Mccarthy was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mitchell Cowdell in the 43rd minute of play forced South Hobart FC's goalkeeper Kenneth Yard to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Bjorn Hilton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of South Hobart FC booed when Miepoll was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Bjorn Hilton didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Antony Mcmahon to make the kick off. 53 minutes into the match, South Hobart FC's goal looked a bit too open when Mitchell Cowdell came free, but Kenneth Yard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Kenneth Yard took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Bjorn Hilton, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Long Inwood took the ball and in the 64 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Kenneth Yard. Kenneth Yard dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. In a very dangerous position, a player in Miepoll fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 74th minute. Penalty! When the match had been going on for 75 minutes, South Hobart FC's Bill Heberle got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Lauder Mccarthy. After 78 played minutes South Hobart FC got a freekick which was hit by Antony Mcmahon. After a rather tough play, Miepoll's Andrews Collins got a free kick in the 81st minute. After some careless play in the South Hobart FC defense, Mitchell Cowdell kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kenneth Yard. The South Hobart FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kenneth Yard should have stopped the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as South Hobart FC's Antony Mcmahon slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Lauder Mccarthy. That made the score 4-4 after 88 minutes of play. Mitchell Cowdell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. South Hobart FC's Berny Waterland got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. South Hobart FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
