Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Danny Solomon started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When the match clock showed 5 minutes, the score became 1-0 when Browne Batterham sped through Buckenbowra's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Pete Staggard. Browne Batterham hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. If Danny Solomon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Bob Hayward had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 18 minutes into the game, Duffield Wharton lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Pete Staggard. After some fancy dribbling in the 26th minute, Duffield Wharton managed to get in a good position for a shot. Toodyay's supporters rose to their feet, but Duffield Wharton was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pete Staggard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Buckenbowra's Pete Staggard got control of the ball when Browne Batterham tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 45th match minute, Buckenbowra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pearce Russell to maneuver through the defense. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

Pete Staggard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Browne Batterham in the 51st minute of play. Duffield Wharton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Pete Staggard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th minute, Jervis Bohn hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Pete Staggard stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Duffield Wharton's shot from short distance in the 64th minute. Pete Staggard made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Duffield Wharton in the 72nd minute of play. The supporters of Buckenbowra booed when Toodyay was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cregan Carnduff didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bob Hayward sent away a hard shot on goal in the 74th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carl Playford charged in rather forcefully in the 75th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Carl Playford the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 75 played minutes Toodyay got a freekick which was hit by Carl Playford. In the 77th match minute, Toodyay was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Cullen Cootes to maneuver through the defense. In the 82nd minute, Browne Batterham ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pete Staggard was frozen by the shot and now it was 4-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danny Solomon in the 91st minute of play forced Toodyay's goalkeeper Raymond Locke to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Toodyay's Raymond Locke proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 93rd minute of the match, managed to save Toodyay from getting a goal against them. Toodyay were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Buckenbowra for a fine match.
