But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Belton Inwood couldn't finish the play. Payton Beckwith showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Alberto Boston, who was totally free with the ball in the 4th minute. Tomingley's Alberto Boston got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Nathan Eicke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Erreys getting a freekick after 12 minutes play. Max Stanton hit a great ball. Tomingley's Drake Hanslow played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jamese Durbridge in the 21st minute of play. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Drake Hanslow showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Carlton Reilly in the 46th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Payton Beckwith prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Belton Inwood to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Erreys's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Boston came free, but Payton Beckwith reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 53rd minute, Nathan Eicke managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tomingley's supporters rose to their feet, but Nathan Eicke was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Drake Hanslow was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Tomingley were furious when Alberto Boston was red carded, 72 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests.
