In the 5th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mangalore's goalkeeper Edward Woods, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 10 minutes into the match, Singleton's goalkeeper Ronald Dorrell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jarrod Newham. In the 14th minute, Bjorn Zalunardo made a precise shot to the right of Edward Woods. Mangalore's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. After some fancy dribbling in the 16th minute, Jordon Lander managed to get in a good position for a shot. Singleton's supporters rose to their feet, but Jordon Lander was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Edward Woods breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Jordon Lander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Carman Odd hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Quade Heathwood sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jarrod Newham might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ronald Dorrell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jarrod Newham ran back to his position shaking his head. Jarrod Newham could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Ronald Dorrell made a huge save. Edward Woods showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Bjorn Zalunardo in the 28th minute of the match. Ronald Dorrell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Quade Heathwood, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Singleton's Ronald Dorrell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Singleton from getting a goal against them. Jordon Lander took the ball and in the 37 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Edward Woods. Edward Woods dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. Edward Woods made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jordon Lander in the 40th minute of play. In the 41st minute, Quade Heathwood fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ronald Dorrell, passed just outside the right post. Quade Heathwood blasted a shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ronald Dorrell having to make a save. Jordon Lander sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Mangalore players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Singleton were winning 0-2.

Edward Woods showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Bjorn Zalunardo, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Singleton's Ronald Dorrell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Jarrod Newham in the 63rd minute of play. If Jarrod Newham had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After having played for 69 minutes, Jarrod Newham managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mangalore's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jarrod Newham was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jordon Lander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mangalore's Edward Woods proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save Mangalore from getting a goal against them. After 85 played minutes Singleton got a freekick which was hit by Mark Burtt. If Jordon Lander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead.
