Bert Gruer made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Luke Alwege sent off a good shot on target. Bert Gruer took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jarvis White, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brye Tinsley made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lawrance Hart in the 19th minute of play. Henry Wayland's late challenge caught a 【TOP】Sydney FC☆冰谷☆〓嗜血〓's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Henry Wayland helped the player get up and apologised. Jarvis White fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bert Gruer having to interfere. If Jarvis White had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

When Lawrance Hart came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the 【TOP】Sydney FC☆冰谷☆〓嗜血〓 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Lawrance Hart couldn't finish the play.
