But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Abe Batterham couldn't finish the play. After having played for 21 minutes, Abe Batterham managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bindoon United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Abe Batterham was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 26th minute of the match, Joshua Sylvester got a very nice opportunity to score, but Nilson Benson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Brock King sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 29th minute, Joshua Sylvester fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Nilson Benson, passed just outside the right post. Brock King ran back to his position shaking his head. Brock King fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nilson Benson having to interfere. 93 minutes into the match, Bindoon United's goal looked a bit too open when Brock King came free, but Nilson Benson reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bindoon United's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
