Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Bland's Barry Trenoweth proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 27th minute of the match, managed to save Bland from getting a goal against them. 29 minutes into the match, Kotta's goal looked a bit too open when Rob Ross came free, but Bryan Hess reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Barry Trenoweth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jarvis Chapman in the 32nd minute of play. When Rob Ross came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Bland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rob Ross couldn't finish the play. Benson Baxter hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Kotta's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Calvin Mckay in the 75th minute of play forced Kotta's goalkeeper Bryan Hess to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kotta's supporters rose to their feet, but Jarvis Chapman was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Barry Trenoweth breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Davey Wilson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bland's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
