If Edmundson Anders had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kane Marsland's late challenge caught a Huntingdon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kane Marsland helped the player get up and apologised. Kane Marsland kicked well hit freekick during the 15th minute of the match. Brannan Stebbing stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Richard Peterson's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Phillip Hines in the 18th minute of play forced Huntingdon's goalkeeper Jemmett Devere to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 22nd minute Richard Peterson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brannan Stebbing saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Huntingdon getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Randell Wakefield hit a great ball. Cliff Wege received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 29th minute. Jemmett Devere tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Paul Limmer was shown his second yellow card after 31 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. The supporters of Huntingdon booed when Wickliffe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 32 match minutes in a wonderful position. Paul Limmer didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 35thth minute of the game Cliff Wege who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Huntingdon's Jemmett Devere was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Phillip Hines managed to get in a good position for a shot. Wickliffe's supporters rose to their feet, but Phillip Hines was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jemmett Devere breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Brannan Stebbing took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Peterson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Mack Ogle fell near the penalty area in the 40th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wickliffe's protests and gave Mack Ogle a yellow card for diving instead. After 40 played minutes Wickliffe got a freekick which was hit by Mack Ogle. Cliff Wege blasted a shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jemmett Devere having to make a save. Disappointed in the 0-1 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Cliff Wege to strike the kick off in the second half. Wickliffe's Loud Flisfeder couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Huntingdon. If Richard Peterson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Richard Peterson in the 62nd minute of play forced Wickliffe's goalkeeper Brannan Stebbing to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Brannan Stebbing took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Richard Peterson, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cliff Wege got free with Jemmett Devere in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Brannan Stebbing showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Richard Peterson in the 85th minute of the match. Huntingdon's Jemmett Devere proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Huntingdon from getting a goal against them. After having played for 90 minutes, Cliff Wege managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Wickliffe's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cliff Wege was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Huntingdon booed when Wickliffe was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 97 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kane Marsland didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Huntingdon fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Wickliffe were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
