Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Munroe Anders took the kick off in the first half of the match. In the 4th minute, Bruno Howarth hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some careless play in the Dunbogan defense, Cliff Wege kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Earl Beverley. The Dunbogan fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Earl Beverley should have stopped the shot. Phillip Hines fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 14th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Earl Beverley having to interfere. After 15 minutes, Drew Schulze mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Dunbogan and the Wickliffe players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Wickliffe booed when Dunbogan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Drew Schulze didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cliff Wege's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Earl Beverley read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 17th minute of play. After some careless play in the Wickliffe defense, Munroe Anders kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Brannan Stebbing. The Wickliffe fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Brannan Stebbing should have stopped the shot. Wickliffe's Brannan Stebbing played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Munroe Anders in the 26th minute of play. 28 minutes into the match, Brendan Butterworth notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Wickliffe's Brannan Stebbing. Brannan Stebbing was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 33 minutes into the game, Munroe Skurrie was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Wickliffe's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dunbogan the free kick. A collision led to Wickliffe getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Munroe Skurrie hit a great ball. Kane Marsland's late challenge caught a Dunbogan's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Kane Marsland helped the player get up and apologised. Kane Marsland hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. After 38 played minutes Wickliffe got a freekick which was hit by Paul Limmer. Brannan Stebbing stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Munroe Anders's shot from short distance in the 40th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Phillip Hines stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cliff Wege fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Earl Beverley having to interfere. If Munroe Anders had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Munroe Anders in the 59th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Brannan Stebbing saved Wickliffe from getting behind. If Phillip Hines had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 74th minute, Brendan Butterworth left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Dunbogan fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. When Munroe Anders came up free with the goalie in the 77th minute, the Dunbogan fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Munroe Anders couldn't finish the play. In the 79th minute the ball was on its way in behind Wickliffe's goalkeeper Brannan Stebbing, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Brannan Stebbing was a little too slow when Munroe Anders got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 82nd minute. The score was now 1-4. Earl Beverley took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cliff Wege, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Munroe Anders received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Brannan Stebbing tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Brendan Butterworth struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Brannan Stebbing didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dunbogan. A collision led to Dunbogan getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Drew Schulze hit a great ball. After recieving a nice pass, Wickliffe's Loud Flisfeder tried to score from far away in the 97th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When the match was over Dunbogan could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Wickliffe throughout the match.
