Rusty Cubitt scored 0-1 in the 6th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benjy Richard, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 15 minutes into the match, Song Lam Nghe An's goal looked a bit too open when Rusty Cubitt came free, but Benjy Richard reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 18th minute Corbett Auger shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raymond Macumber saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Richard Tisdell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Benjy Richard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Corbett Auger received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Raymond Macumber came out and tried to block the shot, but Corbett Auger slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 25th minute. Corbett Auger sent away a hard shot on goal in the 29th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 2-1 became the score in the 33rd minute when Matthews Will elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. James Kernick hit a great freekick 35 minutes into the match. In the 37th minute Rusty Cubitt shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benjy Richard saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 38 minutes into the game, Crawford Alwege was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Song Lam Nghe An's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Willows the free kick. In the 38th minute, Crawford Alwege hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Rusty Cubitt managed to get in a good position for a shot. Willows's supporters rose to their feet, but Rusty Cubitt was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benjy Richard breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 40th minute the ball was on its way in behind Song Lam Nghe An's goalkeeper Benjy Richard, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 42 minutes of play, Willows's Rusty Cubitt made it 2-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benjy Richard was left in no man's land by his defense there! Bern Orr's late challenge caught a Willows's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Bern Orr helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Song Lam Nghe An's Bern Orr got a free kick in the 47th minute. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Richard Tisdell was the one to do the kick off. Benjy Richard made an important save on a dangerous shot by Rusty Cubitt in the 52nd minute. Rusty Cubitt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Benjy Richard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 56th minute, one of Willows:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Willows. Jonathan Auger placed the ball on the penalty spot and got himself ready to shoot. Post out! In the 60thth minute of the game Richard Tisdell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Song Lam Nghe An's Benjy Richard was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When Crawford Alwege was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 61 minutes had been played. Rusty Cubitt sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Song Lam Nghe An's Benjy Richard played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Richard Tisdell in the 65th minute of play. Rusty Cubitt received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Benjy Richard tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Raymond Macumber took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Matthews Will, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Willows's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
