After 13 played minutes Carabost got a freekick which was hit by Iggy Serena. 17 minutes into the match, Geelong FC's goal looked a bit too open when Alfred Ogle came free, but Aden Franklin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of Geelong FC booed when Carabost was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Iggy Serena didn't get a good kick on the ball. Alfred Ogle sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the match had gone on for 33 minutes, Karl Dillon took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Lawrance Cookesley to make any attempt to save it. Karl Dillon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 37th minute. Lawrance Cookesley tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Carabost's Lorimer Finden in the 41st minute got a chance for a shot 41st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 88thth minute of the game Barnabas Millard who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Carabost's Lawrance Cookesley was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Alfred Ogle got free with Aden Franklin in the 94th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After having played for 98 minutes, Clarke Kanack managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Geelong FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Clarke Kanack was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Geelong FC were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Carabost for a fine match.
