Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Abbott Kennedy made the kick off which started today's match. 3 minutes into the game, Biddle Lawson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tawa Wolves's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Springhurst the free kick. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Howard Leach during the 10th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. 10 minutes into the game, one of Tawa Wolves:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Irving Spinder had in the 12thth minute some difficulties stopping Abbott Mcmanamny's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Abbott Kennedy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Battle Devere having to interfere. John Brotherton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Irving Spinder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Irving Spinder made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from John Brotherton in the 23rd minute of play. Battle Devere didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Tawa Wolves's Abbott Kennedy shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-1 in the ordered_time% minute. John Brotherton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Irving Spinder tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. John Brotherton charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed John Brotherton the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to Springhurst getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. John Brotherton hit a great ball. Irving Spinder came out of the goal in the 34th minute to try and stop a shot by Springhurst's Lance Bower. But to his dismay, Lance Bower quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. Lance Bower fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Irving Spinder having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Tawa Wolves's Lowrey Mcgaw got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 46th minute, Lance Bower got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lance Bower to strike the kick off in the second half. Battle Devere took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abbott Kennedy, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Jerrard Kesi got free with Irving Spinder in the 62nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When John Brotherton came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Springhurst fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that John Brotherton couldn't finish the play. If Jerrard Kesi had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Lance Bower sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Springhurst's Lance Bower got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 87th minute, Abbott Kennedy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Nelson Holdsworth fell near the penalty area in the 88th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Springhurst's protests and gave Nelson Holdsworth a yellow card for diving instead. Nelson Holdsworth hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After some careless play in the Springhurst defense, Abbott Kennedy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Battle Devere. The Springhurst fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Battle Devere should have stopped the shot. In the 96th minute, Abbott Kennedy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Springhurst eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
