The Cottonvale players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Longley were winning 1-3.

The wind increased when Bruce Orourke made the kick off in the second half. In the 54thth minute of the game Payton Samuels who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cottonvale's Loud Alcock was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Navarro Fitzpatrick had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match was over Longley could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than Cottonvale throughout the match.
