Battle Devere showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edwardo Hodge, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. John Brotherton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 5th minute. Elliot Rowden tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edwardo Hodge in the 28th minute of play forced Springhurst's goalkeeper Battle Devere to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Elliot Rowden took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lance Bower, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 35th minute, Abbott Mcmanamny hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute Meyer Tongs shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Battle Devere saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jerrard Kesi kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Perthville's Meyer Tongs tried to score from far away in the 39th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 41st minute, Burtt Muller ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Battle Devere was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After a rather tough play, Perthville's Nick Hodson got a free kick in the 47th minute. If Lance Bower had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 48th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Lance Bower to strike the kick off in the second half. Elliot Rowden showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from John Brotherton in the 55th minute of the match. Alford Williams's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Battle Devere read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 58th minute of play. Alford Williams recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 61st match minute, Perthville was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dacosta Schulze to maneuver through the defense. Lance Bower struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Elliot Rowden didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Springhurst. In the 67th minute John Brotherton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elliot Rowden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience was convinced that Lance Bower's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elliot Rowden was relentless in the 69th minute of the game. 72 minutes into the match, Springhurst's goalkeeper Battle Devere had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Edwardo Hodge. 76 minutes into the match, Perthville's goal looked a bit too open when John Brotherton came free, but Elliot Rowden reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Edwardo Hodge had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Lance Bower had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 90th minute John Brotherton shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elliot Rowden saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Edwardo Hodge sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Lance Bower blasted a shot towards the goal in the 96th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Elliot Rowden having to make a save. If John Brotherton had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Perthville supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Perthville would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
