Moonijin's Brookes Lawson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Moonijin from getting a goal against them. If Larry Mitchell had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 21st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmund Hanslow in the 24th minute of play forced Quandary's goalkeeper Curtis Shortus to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Moonijin's zone, Burns Willding stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Brookes Lawson came out of the goal and Burns Willding tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Quandary's Danny Allcock got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After 44 played minutes, Moonijin's Brian Ancell shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Curtis Shortus came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Moonijin reached it. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmund Hanslow to strike the kick off in the second half. Brookes Lawson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Larry Mitchell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 61 played minutes Quandary got a freekick which was hit by Carleton Neich. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edgar Bleazard in the 63rd minute of play forced Moonijin's goalkeeper Brookes Lawson to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Aaron Behla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 64th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Curtis Shortus showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edmund Hanslow, who was totally free with the ball in the 72nd minute. If Carleton Neich had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Larry Mitchell fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brookes Lawson having to interfere. Aaron Behla could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Curtis Shortus made a huge save. Larry Mitchell received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Brookes Lawson tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the game, Brian Ancell threw the ball into play from the sideline. Quandary's Michael Maunsell quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 91st minute, Carleton Neich ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Brookes Lawson was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. Brookes Lawson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Larry Mitchell in the 95th minute of play. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Danny Allcock managed to get in a good position for a shot. Quandary's supporters rose to their feet, but Danny Allcock was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Brookes Lawson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Quandary walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
