Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) An unexpectedly hard shot by Belton Palmington in the 6th minute of play forced Brinkley's goalkeeper Brent Paull to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 0-1 became the score in the 12th minute when Darryl Hinwood elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Brandon Rhoades during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Brandon Rhoades hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. Belton Palmington received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 17th minute. Brent Paull tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Marshall Reilly hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Bran Kidman was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 20th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Darryl Hinwood received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Brent Paull tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Brinkley booed when Wantirna was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Abe Nunn didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Wantirna's Marshall Reilly got a free kick in the 29th minute. If James Sibbold had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Wantirna's Darryl Hinwood got a good chance for a goal in the 37th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Brent Paull showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Belton Palmington, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. Marshall Reilly recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 41st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 44th minute Tommy Awege shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Barnabas Boston saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 46 minutes, Roland Shirdon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brinkley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Roland Shirdon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Belton Palmington stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Brandon Rhoades got his second yellow card in the match during the 63rd minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 64th match minute, Brinkley was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Brandon Rhoades to maneuver through the defense. Darryl Hinwood who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 65thth minute tested the skills of Brent Paull when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Darryl Hinwood's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 66thth minute, Brent Paull skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After having played for 67 minutes, James Sibbold managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Brinkley's supporters crossed their fingers, but James Sibbold was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Kris Tinsley fell near the penalty area in the 67th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Wantirna's protests and gave Kris Tinsley a yellow card for diving instead. Kris Tinsley kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. The supporters of Wantirna booed when Brinkley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. James Sibbold didn't get a good kick on the ball. James Sibbold scored 1-1 in the 73rd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Barnabas Boston, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Brent Paull made a fantastic save in the 77th minute, when Darryl Hinwood sent off a good shot on target. Rolando Beaverley kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. Wantirna's Barnabas Boston played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by James Sibbold in the 81st minute of play. In the 84th minute, Darryl Hinwood made a precise shot to the right of Brent Paull. Brinkley's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. In the 88th play minute Darryl Hinwood came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Brent Paull. 1-3. Darryl Hinwood who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 92ndth minute tested the skills of Brent Paull when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Darryl Hinwood fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brent Paull having to interfere. Best Bleazard sent away a hard shot on goal in the 97th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Wantirna players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
