Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alvin Lowes started the match with the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 4th minute, Alvin Lowes managed to get in a good position for a shot. West Torrens Birkalla's supporters rose to their feet, but Alvin Lowes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dalton Diehl breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 6th minute the ball was on its way in behind Waverley's goalkeeper Dalton Diehl, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 11 minutes into the match, Waverley's goal looked a bit too open when Alvin Lowes came free, but Dalton Diehl reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Amos Haskell struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Dalton Diehl didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for West Torrens Birkalla. Alvin Lowes sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Alvin Lowes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Dalton Diehl tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alvin Lowes's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dalton Diehl read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 34th minute of play. The supporters of West Torrens Birkalla booed when Waverley was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Kennedy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Waverley's Dalton Diehl played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alvin Lowes in the 36th minute of play. Alvin Lowes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alvin Lowes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dalton Diehl having to interfere. After 46 minutes, Ralph Oconnell mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the West Torrens Birkalla and the Waverley players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, West Torrens Birkalla's Ralph Oconnell got a free kick in the 46th minute. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Bernie Flesfader sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Blade Benton fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Joshua Lonergan having to interfere. 64 minutes into the match, West Torrens Birkalla's goalkeeper Joshua Lonergan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bernie Flesfader. In the 68th minute, West Torrens Birkalla's Irwin Johnson seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Irwin Johnson the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of West Torrens Birkalla protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Irwin Johnson had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 67 minutes into the game, one of West Torrens Birkalla:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 70 minutes, Waverley's Russ Orourke got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Joshua Lonergan. The crowd rose to their feet as Bernie Flesfader kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Joshua Lonergan. That made the score 0-2 in the 74 minute of play. A collision led to Waverley getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Bryson Osbiston hit a great ball. When West Torrens Birkalla's Amos Haskell in the 78th minute got a chance for a shot 78th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Waverley's goalie prevented a goal. When Battle Mcgregor fell near the penalty area in the 80th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored West Torrens Birkalla's protests and gave Battle Mcgregor a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to West Torrens Birkalla getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Battle Mcgregor hit a great ball. Joshua Lonergan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Blade Benton, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Blade Benton received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Joshua Lonergan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Waverley supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Waverley would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
