The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. When Alan Czaczka came up free with the goalie in the 2nd minute, the Grasmere fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alan Czaczka couldn't finish the play. After 5 played minutes FC Donks got a freekick which was hit by Carlton Ancell. Bern Whittington made an important save on a dangerous shot by Antonia Markou in the 7th minute. Bern Whittington showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlton Ancell in the 11th minute of the match. A collision led to FC Donks getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Tony Brandie hit a great ball. Rod Gaffigan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alan Czaczka in the 15th minute of the match. 19 minutes into the match, Grasmere's goal looked a bit too open when Carlton Ancell came free, but Bern Whittington reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. FC Donks's Rod Gaffigan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alan Czaczka in the 36th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Grasmere's Dane Dollymore got a free kick in the 39th minute. In the 41st minute, Randle Auger hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Alan Czaczka received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Rod Gaffigan tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alan Czaczka made a kick off. Grasmere's Bern Whittington played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonia Markou in the 53rd minute of play. In the 54th minute Alan Czaczka shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rod Gaffigan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alan Czaczka was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 80th minute. Grasmere's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After a defensive mix-up in FC Donks's zone, Alan Czaczka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rod Gaffigan came out of the goal and Alan Czaczka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 84th match minute, FC Donks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dan Angell to maneuver through the defense. In the 89th play minute Randle Auger came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Rod Gaffigan. 0-2. After a defensive mix-up in FC Donks's zone, Alan Czaczka stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Rod Gaffigan came out of the goal and Alan Czaczka tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Luck Heys sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 96th match minute, FC Donks was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oliver Powell to maneuver through the defense. Grasmere played a much better game than FC Donks and deserved their victory. The FC Donks players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
