After 15 played minutes Blza FC NZ got a freekick which was hit by Gregg Callaghan. In the 18th minute of the match Rockleigh got a corner. Blza FC NZ's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rick Hemsley ran over to the corner to take the kick. If Neil Szobczak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Roy Teuma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience thought a goal was coming when Roy Teuma got free with Cliff Benton in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With an all-out effort, Rockleigh's Cliff Benton threw himself towards the right post 36 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Phenix Glover, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. After having played for 37 minutes, Phenix Glover managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rockleigh's supporters crossed their fingers, but Phenix Glover was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Stewart Beaverley kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Arty Greenan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Cliff Benton didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Rockleigh's Phenix Glover shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 3-0 in the ordered_time% minute. If Roy Teuma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Cliff Benton stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Roy Teuma's shot from short distance in the 60th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Roy Teuma in the 64th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Cliff Benton was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 68th minute, Neil Szobczak hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Rockleigh's Phenix Glover got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Phenix Glover took the ball and in the 73 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cliff Benton. Cliff Benton dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 5-0. Cliff Benton came out of the goal in the 81st minute to try and stop a shot by Rockleigh's Roy Teuma. But to his dismay, Roy Teuma quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 6-0. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Phenix Glover in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Cliff Benton saved Blza FC NZ from getting behind. In the 89thth minute of the game Phenix Glover who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Blza FC NZ's Cliff Benton was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After 91 played minutes Rockleigh got a freekick which was hit by Brandon Shirdon. Blza FC NZ's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
