In the 6th minute Rusty Trims shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Logan Biddell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 6th match minute, Broadmarsh was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ned Schoenke to maneuver through the defense. In the 9th minute of the match Burns Moran shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Raleigh Annis showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Bradshaw Sewell sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 19 minutes into the match, Broadmarsh's goal looked a bit too open when Cod Williams came free, but Raleigh Annis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 25th minute, Brayden Slattery hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Brayden Slattery had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 33rd minute Rusty Trims shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Logan Biddell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 35th minute, Gregg Babbage hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Carlton Woods shot a hard long shot which touched the left pole and just rolled over the goal line behind Raleigh Annis. 36 minutes into the game was 1-0. Ned Schoenke hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. Brayden Slattery sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Cod Williams was the one to do the kick off. Rusty Trims could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 54th minute of the match, but Logan Biddell made a huge save. In the 57th minute of the match, Rusty Trims got a very nice opportunity to score, but Logan Biddell was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Cod Williams received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 70th minute. Raleigh Annis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Arne Devere hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. Cod Williams received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 78th minute. Raleigh Annis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Bradshaw Sewell came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Wahgunyah fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bradshaw Sewell couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Broadmarsh booed when Wahgunyah was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Barth Cameron didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 84th minute of the match Alexander Duggan sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Logan Biddell skillfully saved the ball. Brayden Slattery struck a weak shot in the 94th minute. Logan Biddell didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Broadmarsh. After 95 minutes, Barth Cameron mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Wahgunyah and the Broadmarsh players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Wahgunyah's Barth Cameron got a free kick in the 95th minute. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Wahgunyah had won after a very even match.
