Balgowan's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Goal the free kick. A collision led to Balgowan getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Navin Swan hit a great ball. Brock Macinnes's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 20thth minute, Bruce Tarrant skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Balgowan's Barry Mckinnes got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Goal booed when Balgowan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 24 match minutes in a wonderful position. Neville Bonham didn't get a good kick on the ball. Barry Mckinnes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 28th minute. Calvin Hardiman tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adolph Digiuseppe blasted a shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Bruce Tarrant having to make a save. A hard shot 34 in the game by Brock Macinnes from a close distance when the talented Bruce Tarrant managed to make a qualified save. Balgowan's players were relieved. In the 34th match minute, Balgowan was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bartholemew Arkinstall to maneuver through the defense. In the 36th minute, Bartholemew Arkinstall hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 38th minute, Brock Macinnes left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Goal fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. 43 minutes into the match, Goal's Adolph Digiuseppe sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Bruce Tarrant narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Navin Swan in the 46th minute of play forced Goal's goalkeeper Calvin Hardiman to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 47 minutes into the match, Barry Mckinnes had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Calvin Hardiman. Goal's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Barry Mckinnes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Brock Macinnes made the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, Goal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blade Mcneven to maneuver through the defense. 54 minutes into the game, Navin Swan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-2. Calvin Hardiman was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 59th minute Brock Macinnes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bruce Tarrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 62 minutes, Blade Mcneven mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Goal and the Balgowan players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Balgowan booed when Goal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Blade Mcneven didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 63rd minute, Navin Swan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Navin Swan got free with Calvin Hardiman in the 65th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 66th minute of the match, Barry Mckinnes tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Calvin Hardiman saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 68 minutes into the match, Goal's goalkeeper Calvin Hardiman had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Bartholemew Arkinstall. After 68 played minutes Goal got a freekick which was hit by Blade Mcneven. In the 75th match minute, Goal was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Blade Mcneven to maneuver through the defense. After 78 played minutes Balgowan got a freekick which was hit by Bartholemew Arkinstall. When Goal's Brock Macinnes in the 81st minute got a chance for a shot 81st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Balgowan's goalie prevented a goal. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Balgowan to win.
