Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Roland Grigson made the kick off which started today's match. When Woomera U18's Roland Grigson in the 5th minute got a chance for a shot 5th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Gatton's goalie prevented a goal. After a rather tough play, Gatton's Larry Fortington got a free kick in the 7th minute. When Damian Ziliotto fell near the penalty area in the 9th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Woomera U18's protests and gave Damian Ziliotto a yellow card for diving instead. In the 9th minute, Damian Ziliotto hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 10 played minutes Larry Fortington rounded Woomera U18's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. After a rather tough play, Gatton's Larry Fortington got a free kick in the 14th minute. The audience was convinced that Roland Grigson's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Loyd Owens was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. In the 22nd minute Roland Grigson shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Loyd Owens saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Roland Grigson in the 24th minute of play forced Gatton's goalkeeper Loyd Owens to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Gatton's Loyd Owens played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dalton Pywell in the 25th minute of play. Carmichael Mcmurchie's late challenge caught a Gatton's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Carmichael Mcmurchie helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Woomera U18 getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Carmichael Mcmurchie hit a great ball. In the 36th minute, Larry Fortington hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Roland Grigson had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Roland Grigson succeeded in the game's 40th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-1. After 42 minutes of play Woomera U18's Damian Ziliotto was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Gatton booed when Woomera U18 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Damian Ziliotto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

Roland Grigson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Loyd Owens was out of position in the 57 minute of play, and Dalton Pywell capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Dalton Pywell really showed his touch with that goal: 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Woomera U18's zone, Brayden Angell stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Payne Unicomb came out of the goal and Brayden Angell tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After having played for 63 minutes, Dalton Pywell managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Woomera U18's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dalton Pywell was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Roland Grigson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Jason Calver recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 68th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Larry Fortington received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 71st minute. Payne Unicomb tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Payne Unicomb showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Brayden Angell, who was totally free with the ball in the 75th minute. Roland Grigson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Loyd Owens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Jason Calver had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 80th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 82 minutes into the match, Woomera U18's Roland Grigson sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Loyd Owens narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Roland Grigson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Loyd Owens tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When the match clock showed 85 minutes, the score became 1-3 when Roland Grigson sped through Gatton's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Loyd Owens. In the 89th minute the ball was on its way in behind Gatton's goalkeeper Loyd Owens, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The crowd rose to their feet as Jason Calver kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Loyd Owens. That made the score 1-4 in the 90 minute of play. Payne Unicomb took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Brayden Angell, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Woomera U18 had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
