Jamese Rear fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Brock Porteus having to interfere. After 6 minutes, Bruce James mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Brocklehurst and the Sunderland players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 7th minute Eddie Munster shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brock Porteus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Adolfo Tout kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. Sunderland's Jessop Muddle played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Damian Orr in the 17th minute of play. 21 minutes into the game, Sunderland's Eddie Munster nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Brock Porteus made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cole Ward in the 24th minute of play forced Sunderland's goalkeeper Jessop Muddle to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ike Rose charged in rather forcefully in the 28th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ike Rose the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Cole Ward received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Jessop Muddle tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Damian Orr struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Jessop Muddle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brocklehurst. The audience was convinced that Eddie Munster's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Brock Porteus was relentless in the 38th minute of the game. Jessop Muddle took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cole Ward, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Brock Porteus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eddie Munster in the 44th minute of play. Eddie Munster received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 46th minute. Brock Porteus tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Eddie Munster to strike the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, Brocklehurst's Antonio Neich got a free kick in the 53rd minute. With a little luck, Sunderland's Jessop Muddle got control of the ball when Damian Orr tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 60th minute Eddie Munster shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Brock Porteus saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Brocklehurst's Ike Rose got his second yellow card of the match in the 62nd minute. The referee ordered Ike Rose off the ground. Brock Porteus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eddie Munster in the 64th minute of the match. Eddie Munster struck a weak shot in the 66th minute. Brock Porteus didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sunderland. Brock Porteus made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jamese Rear in the 67th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Damian Orr could shoot a difficult shot in the 72nd minute, which Jessop Muddle however easily saved by the left post. After 74 minutes of play, Brocklehurst's Damian Orr made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jessop Muddle was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 77th minute, Damian Orr got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adolfo Tout's late challenge caught a Brocklehurst's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Adolfo Tout helped the player get up and apologised. Damian Orr struck a weak shot in the 83rd minute. Jessop Muddle didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Brocklehurst. Brock Porteus came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by Sunderland's Eddie Munster. But to his dismay, Eddie Munster quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Sunderland's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
