A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 42nd minute of the match, Matthias Wilson tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Alexander Mcwilliam saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. If Eddy Kaine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to adelaide fc getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Clay Spinder hit a great ball. After 48 minutes adelaide fc's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Russel Missen who took care of the corner kick. Edwardo Toth tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Battle Glover. An unnecessary self made goal, 0-2 in the 48th minute.

The wind increased when Best Benton made the kick off in the second half. In the 55th minute, Bill Hoskin made a precise shot to the right of Alexander Mcwilliam. Carawa's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Alvin Wright kicked well hit freekick during the 57th minute of the match. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. After a rather tough play, adelaide fc's Edwardo Toth got a free kick in the 81st minute. Bill Hoskin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexander Mcwilliam having to interfere. One couldn't see Russel Missen behind all of his teammates who surrounded to congratulate him.
