Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Jaffery Maddern took the kick off in the first half of the match. Jaffery Maddern recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 8th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Elsternwick Amateurs getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Art Hodge hit a great ball. Baddaginnie's Art Hollingworth got a good chance for a goal in the 12th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Danny Kuskopf fell near the penalty area in the 15th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Baddaginnie's protests and gave Danny Kuskopf a yellow card for diving instead. Kirk Mcenally could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 18th minute of the match, but Jarrett Gaines made a huge save. When Kirk Mcenally came up free with the goalie in the 22nd minute, the Elsternwick Amateurs fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Kirk Mcenally couldn't finish the play. Edward Missen sent away a hard shot on goal in the 23rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Edward Missen received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 26th minute. Jarrett Gaines tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Kirk Mcenally fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarrett Gaines having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Edward Missen managed to get in a good position for a shot. Elsternwick Amateurs's supporters rose to their feet, but Edward Missen was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jarrett Gaines breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Kirk Mcenally managed to get in a good position for a shot. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edward Missen to strike the kick off in the second half. Jarrett Gaines took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edward Missen, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 79 played minutes Baddaginnie got a freekick which was hit by Jaffery Maddern. Edward Missen fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jarrett Gaines having to interfere. In the 88th minute Kirk Mcenally shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jarrett Gaines saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Baddaginnie booed when Elsternwick Amateurs was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 95 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edward Missen didn't get a good kick on the ball.
